MEMBERSHIP

Understanding Our Mission

  • To promote interest in various forms of motorcycle activity associated with veterans.
  • To create and maintain camaraderie among combat veterans from all U.S. branches of service and its allies.
  • To support veteran organizations.
  • To raise awareness for the plight of POWs, MIAs, and their families, Post-Rraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and other combat related medical conditions.
  • To conduct chapter functions and activities in a manner befitting the members of the CVMA.
  • To encourage a better understanding of motorcycle riding as a constructive activity among members of the public, press, and law enforcement agencies.

Membership Criteria

General Requirements

  • Be of good character
  • Agree to be bound by and comply with National, State, and Chapter Bylaws and written policies.
  • Be aware of all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations relating to fundraising by a charitable organization.
  • Agree to be bound by back patch policies and agreements.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that is not an embarrassment to yourself, the CVMA, the Chapter, Texas, or the United States of America.
  • Must not represent to anyone that the CVMA or any of it's Chapters is a motorcycle club (MC), must not prospect nor represent that the CVMA or Chapters engage in prospecting.
  • Must not represent that the CVMA has colors or cuts.
  • Agree to not take any action to infringe upon the CVMA logo, seal, or emblem.  Must not use, display, or publish the CVMA logo, seal, or emblem without expressed written consent.
  • Must not bring dishonor upon the CVMA or Chapter in action, words, or deeds.
  • Must attend a minimum of at least one (1) event hosted by the CVMA within the CVMA fiscal year.
  • Timely pay all CVMA and Chapter yearly dues.

Full Member

Full Members

  • Meet all General Requirements.
  • Must be or have been a member of the United States Armed Services.
  • Must be a Veteran of a Foreign War (Combat) as verified by your DD214/215 with *Honorable Discharge, Official Military Personnel File, or Officer/Enlisted records.
    • Non-Honorable discharges may still gain membership but additional scrutiny will occur during the application process.
  • Must own and operate a motorcycle of 500cc or above.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a motorcycle endorsement.
  • Must maintain valid registration and insurance sufficient to meet Texas requirements.

Supporter

Supporter Members

  • Meet all General Requirements.
  • Must have been a member of the United States Armed Services who successfully completed both basic military training and advanced initial (technical) military training.
  • Must have received an Honorable discharge verified by that person’s DD214/215 with Honorable Discharge, Official Military Personnel File or officer/enlisted record.
    • Non-Honorable discharges may still gain membership but additional scrutiny will occur during the application process.
  • Must own and operate a motorcycle of 500cc or above.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a motorcycle endorsement.
  • Must maintain valid registration and insurance sufficient to meet Texas requirements.
  • Must obtain sponsorship from a Full Member who has held a membership in good standing for more than one (1) full year.
  • Must have ridden a minimum of 3,000 miles with their sponsor, attended three (3) CVMA events, or be known by their sponsor for a minimum of 6 months.
  • State Support membership shall not exceed 10% of the number of Full Members.

Auxiliary

Auxiliary Members

  • Meet all General Requirements.
  • Must be a spouse of a Full Member or Support Member.
  • Must submit an official proof of marriage during the application process.
